Sewer Lining: Cured-in-place technique as an alternative to sewer and storm pipes repair

Drain pipes tend to break from time to time, causing flooding and creating a mess with excavation and destroyed driveways… But when you call Anta Plumbing, you can avoid all that hassle. The technology is known as cured-in-place pipe replacement or pipe lining installation.

Cured-in-place pipe lining is a quick and easy method for installing new pipes to replace broken or cracked drain pipes. Best of all, it requires no digging - it is a trenchless technology. Once we have done a camera sewer inspection, we install cured-in-place pipe linings through the already available access points, which is your clean outs.

The picture on the left shows a pipe with roots infiltrated through the cracks and the connection between the clay pipe sections.

City of Toronto licensed plumbers can install new cured-in-place piping inside your existing pipes without any excavation.

Lateral (sewer) pipes play a major role in draining all the waste and rainwater from the property to the municipal mains (storm or sewer drains). With time, clay pipes can be damaged by wear and tear or roots and cracks start to form. This most often results in water backups and flooding to the property.

Water damage can be mild or severe, causing much cosmetic damage as carpets can be soaked with sewer water. Drywall can also absorb sewer water, dirt and mud.

A technician from Anta Plumbing will be able to find the problem using video sewer inspection (CCTV) right into your pipe.
If you have broken pipes, we offer one of two choices:

If you have broken pipes, we offer one of two choices:

1. Excavation

We will excavate the area around the broken pipe and remove the broken section, before installing a new section and connecting it using a rubber fernco.

2. Cured-in-place Lining

We will install cured-in-place lining through the existing hole. The process is facilitated using specialty cameras and hot air produced by a compressor. Pipe lining is often the preferred method in existing homes, as hardscape, landscaping and dry walls stay in tact. It is also a much quicker method that leaves no mess.

From this point we have two choices:

  • Excavation (remove the portion of the pipe, install new portion, connect with rubber fernco)

  • Lining (through the existing clean-out shift lining to the pipe, cure the new pipe inside using the specialty cameras with hot air produced by compressor beside.

  • Second method is giving your opportunity to keep everything untouched (your landscaping outside, your sidewalk with interlock, your driveway paving, your garden, grass, anything).

  • We use method called Cured-in-Place Pipe

  • Examination and Diagnosis The lateral lining process is typically complete within six hours.
